The Ossining Little League seventh- and eighth-grade team recently defeated the White Plains Bernies, 24-0, allowing the football team to finish undefeated for the first time in history. Heather McArdle, a resident of Ossining and a geosciences teacher at Mahopac High School in Putnam County, was recently presented the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Foundation's national 2014 Teacher of the Year Award.
