La Rose served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era, and was a professor of geography and economics at Rockland Community College until his retirement. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, 381 N. Highland Ave., Ossining.
