Hudson River ice has led to a suspension in ferry service linking Rockland and Westchester counties for the past 17 days. So today Rocklanda County Executive Ed Day joined U.S. Senator Charles Schumer, state Senator David Carlucci and state Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski in Haverstraw to call on the U.S. Coast Guard to increase ice-breaking efforts on the river-to keep the Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry operational during prolonged periods of sub-freezing winter weather.
